Inyenyeri Itazima. It means “sunlight through the leaves,” and that’s what we’re about. Bringing light back to Rwanda, even after the darkness
Founded by Mudenge Boniface, a survivor of the Rwandan genocide, Inyenyeri Itazima (“sunlight through the leaves”) embodies a message of hope and reconciliation amidst unimaginable pain.
Our founder, Mudenge, lived through the bad times. He saw hate, he lost loved ones, he felt fear. But he also saw kindness, courage, and hope. When he came back, he didn’t choose revenge. He chose forgiveness.
That’s why we exist. To help families torn apart mend fences. To teach future generations peace. To show the world that even after tragedy, hope can grow.
