We Are Non Profit Organization

Inyenyeri Itazima. It means “sunlight through the leaves,” and that’s what we’re about. Bringing light back to Rwanda, even after the darkness

Founded by Mudenge Boniface, a survivor of the Rwandan genocide, Inyenyeri Itazima (“sunlight through the leaves”) embodies a message of hope and reconciliation amidst unimaginable pain.

Our founder, Mudenge, lived through the bad times. He saw hate, he lost loved ones, he felt fear. But he also saw kindness, courage, and hope. When he came back, he didn’t choose revenge. He chose forgiveness.

Inyenyeri Itazima

That’s why we exist. To help families torn apart mend fences. To teach future generations peace. To show the world that even after tragedy, hope can grow. It’s more than just a beautiful phrase – it’s our mission. In simple terms, it means “sunlight through the leaves,” and that’s exactly what we strive to do in Rwanda. We bring light and hope back to a land that once experienced terrible darkness. Our founder, Mudenge Boniface, knows this darkness firsthand. He lived through the Rwandan genocide, witnessed terrible things, and lost loved ones.
Yet, amidst the pain, he saw a flicker of something else: kindness, courage, and most importantly, hope. Mudenge chose not to be consumed by hate, but to embrace forgiveness. This is the foundation of Inyenyeri Itazima. So what do we do? We help families torn apart by tragedy mend fences and rebuild relationships. We teach the next generation about peace and understanding, ensuring the mistakes of the past aren’t repeated. And maybe most importantly, we show the world that even after immense suffering, hope can truly blossom anew.
